The view from nowhere
Further down the quays, some seventeen years before, Arthur Guinness had started his brewery and was doing well. But Dublin was fast becoming the second city of the British Empire, and it's population was growing.

Nicholas had no doubt that a second brewery in inner Dublin would thrive. After all, the river Liffey was just outside the door. His decision: the company would cease trading linen and silk, and start brewing beer.
